Seminar Winter Term 21/22

The group offers a Seminar in the Winter Term 21/22 on Machine Learning for Renewable Energy Systems.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, you will understand the basics of renewable energy systems and the role machine learning can play to control, optimise and understand them. You will be able to review current literature on challenges in renewable energy systems and can identify machine learning approaches to address these challenges.

Additionally, you’ll be able to present a machine learning approach for a current challenge in renewable energy systems in written and oral form and are able to give feedback to other students.

Organisation and Evaluation

Credits: 3 ECTS

Dates & Room: Wednesdays 10 am c.t., Conference Room, South Wing, 4th floor, Maria-von-Linden Str 6

Evaluation: Presentation (12min + 3min Q&A), review of two other student paper (roughly 1 page each), written seminar paper (7-10 pages)

Only the final seminar paper (75%) and the presentation (25%) are graded. The reviews and first version of the paper have to be handed-in on time to pass the course. Preliminary deadlines can be found at the bottom of this page in the tentative course plan.
